Introduction:
Wonder Festival is the largest festival of figure and garage kit in Japan. Because this festival is specialized for figure it is stronger in the genre than Comiket. It is held twice a year, Winter(February) and Summer(August). Every time almost all figure makers that are popular in Otaku industry take part in it and put their new works that schedul to be sold after this or in future on view. Thre are also works that are sold for the first time in Wonder Festival. In front of the showcase in which popular figures are displayed visitors stand in long line to take the photo. After the festival many bloggers summarize and introduce their photo of the noteworthy figures in the festival. And the hall is devided into the Corpolate Dealers area and Doujin area as same as Comiket. Not only corporate dealers but also Doujin figure circles sell their works. There are many figures that show striking originality in their art in Doujin circle’s works. They create mainly, of cause, fan art figures of official anime and manga. Moreover, one of the special-features of this festival is erotic figures displayed in the area in which people under 18 years old can’t enter. The erotic pose and provocative costume are reproduced well by the peculiar molding of figure and they can’t be watched in the official anime and manga. However, in general figure is very expensive, compared with Doujin manga. But please don’t worry. secondhand figure and bargain articles that are often not new works are sold, too. And Cosplayers come to the festival, too. The cosplay area outdoor is bustling with activity no less than the hall in which figures are displayed.
